Client Service Agreement

I am committed to protecting your interests and helping you meet your financial goals.

What You Can Expect From Me

COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL PLAN
Together, we will develop a comprehensive financial plan to help you achieve your long-term financial goals. As part of this plan, we will cover the investment, insurance, tax and estate planning aspects of your situation. This is a fee-based service charged at hourly rate of $175. Cost is based in accordance with Letter of Engagement. Service is provided through Richardson Financial Consulting.

PERSONAL RISK PROFILE
I will help you determine your risk profile, and will take this into consideration when we structure your investment portfolio aimed at achieving long-term growth without undue risk.

ACCESS TO OUTSIDE SPECIALISTS
As your situation requires, I will facilitate access to other specialists, including tax accountants, estate lawyers and eldercare specialists, whose skills we comfortably endorse.

TAX-SAVING OPPORTUNITIES
For most clients, tax planning and minimization are key components of the financial plan. As part of your overall plan, strategies such as RRSP, TFSA and RESP planning, income splitting, insurance and family trusts will be evaluated.

ONGOING ATTENTION
On a regular basis, your account will be monitored to take advantage of the opportunities created by changing circumstances. Your plan will be reviewed annually and appropriate adjustments made to address your current life stage.

COMPLETE AND REGULAR REPORTING
Within 10 days of each transaction you will receive a trade confirmation. As well, you will receive a quarterly statement detailing all transactions within the period. Each statement is designed to be as clear as possible. I will review the format of the report with you to ensure you are comfortable interpreting the results. We will meet annually for a comprehensive review of your investment performance and more frequently if you prefer.

DIRECT CONTACT
I make myself as accessible to clients as possible. Either myself, or my administrative assistant will return all telephone calls and e-mails the same day, or within 24 hours.

VALUE ADDED
My most satisfied client is one who is fully informed. As a result, I have a strong commitment to client communication. Direct on-line access to your portfolio statement and transactions is available to every client. Periodically, I will share articles of interest, updates on market trends and events. In addition, I maintain a library of some of the very best books on personal finance, available for loan to all of my clients.

What I Require From You

REASONABLE FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE
I can only develop a sound financial plan for my clients when we work together. To ensure we develop the best possible plan, it is imperative that you feel comfortable disclosing all aspects of your financial situation.

OPEN COMMUNICATION
Our annual review will normally ensure that I am aware of changes in your financial situation or risk tolerance. However, in the interim, if your circumstances change, it is important for you to let me know.

INTEREST AND LEARNING
I will be very familiar with any financial tools and strategies that may be of benefit to you, and will recommend those of value. I encourage you to ask me any questions you have so that you are always comfortable with your portfolio and our relationship.
